EUROS 2024: Orange fever at Agiboo - now turned into 'It's coming home' chants

It’s been an exciting couple of weeks at Agiboo as we’re gearing up for the final of the Euros at the Olympiastadion in Berlin this Sunday. As an international company, we’ve seen support for & from various corners of the continent the whole of last month, with 24 teams competing to get their hands on the coveted Coupe Henri Delaunay. Now that there are only two countries left in the competition, the office is divided into two camps – with alternating chants of ‘It’s coming home’ versus ¡Vamos! ¡Vamos! ¡Vamos!.

As a Dutch organisation, we’ve obviously all been bitten by the bug and had our collective bout of Orange Fever. No surprises there – even our company logo is orange!

We may have seen our hopes of once again lifting the trophy this weekend – some 36 years after the likes of Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit and Frank Rijkaart secured the European Championship for the Netherlands – shattered after Ollie Watkins’ late goal last night, but we’re still in the running for the title of best revelers and ambiance makers. As football-loving crowds in the host nation of Germany went full orange in the leadup to the semis, even the English couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the Dutchies.

The penalty that saw Harry Kane turn a questionable referee decision into an equalizing 1-1 in the first 20 minutes of the game may be a strong new addition to the ongoing debate between the parties of pro- and anti-VAR, in the end the individual talent on the field came through to earn not the Dutch Lion but the Three Lions their spot alongside Spain on Sunday. We wish England fans all the best against an exhilirating side that delivered that first half against France in the first semis. Will we see the first English championship in almost 60 years, or will Spain secure their 4th trophy in 16(!) years? ¡Vamos! – It’s coming home!
